1960 Brighton-built left-hand drive three-wheeler. Totally rebuild to a very high standard between 2018-19 by a retired BMW-trained engineer with experience owning and working on Isettas. Correct parts were obtained from the Isetta Owners Club, Bromley Bubbles and Old Timer OS in Germany – a full list of parts and photographic record comes with the car. It is effectively a new car, showing 150 miles so it’s still running-in.

There is no previous history other than a 1990’s MOT certificate; it was purchased in parts after the previous owner gave up in the early stage of restoration. When bought, the chassis was already repainted, the bull bars re-chromed, the speedo rebuilt and the Dynastart looks new or recently rebuilt.

During restoration, the engine was fully stripped and rebuilt: rebored, new piston and rings, small and big end bearings, timing chain, overhauled cylinder head with new valves and guides. The gearbox was untouched but works well, new bushes in the mechanism give smooth gear selection. New clutch plate, brakes, cables, bushes and bearings throughout and 4 new tyres. The seat was retrimmed before purchase in nice red MacIsetta tartan and, whilst there are some small moth holes, it was otherwise in acceptable condition. New door, side and rear shelf panels, window rubbers, a working heater and original light, dimmer and direction switches.

A replacement floorplan was already fitted and various other panels have been replaced. Originally red it is now BMW MINI Pepper White, which is close to Old English White. A good quality alloy luggage rack has been fitted.

Apart from the seat, there are two very small paint blemishes and the wheel rims are slightly pitted - completely safe but might benefit from rubbing down and filling. The car otherwise presents excellently.

MOT and tax exempt it was however MOT’d when first put back on the road. The car was specified for regular use and to be totally reliable. Has a satnav socket too.
